		<description>I would recommend you read the error message more carefully. If you are not root when doing this, try using sudo:
$ sudo apt-get remove eclipse eclipse-platform eclipse-source eclipse-rcp eclipse-pde eclipse-jdt</description>

$ apt-get remove eclipse eclipse-platform eclipse-source eclipse-rcp eclipse-pde eclipse-jdt
E: Could not open lock file /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (13 Permission denied)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), are you root?

		<description>Considering the enormous amount of you guys checking this article (about 10 per day) and obviously checking for more info about Subclipse on Ubuntu 8.04 (and other platforms), I really think there is something wrong with the Subclipse plugin. 
And I must say I&#039;m annoyed of having to deal with enormous projects like Dokeos and Dolibarr without being able to do a visual SVN diff from time to time, or seeing which files are not synchronised...</description>
